Top Gear vs

the bataK

For the promotional campaign for Top Gear S27, I was given the task of creating entertaining social videos that would highlight the presenters' personalities while maintaining a competitive edge and alignment with the show's racing theme, albeit without actual racing. I came up with the idea to use a BATAK machine as a fun way to determine who had the quickest reaction time among the presenters.

In this project, I took on multiple roles: lead producer, director, and editor, and also served as one of the camera operators in a team of two. A significant part of the challenge was orchestrating the transportation of the bulky BATAK machine across London. Tailoring the content for Instagram and Facebook, I directed the camera in a way that we could stack the shots in the edit, allowing viewers to simultaneously witness one presenter undertaking the challenge and the reactions of the others, to create a more engaging edit.
